Transformational Services

1.Transformational Services in respect of Logix mainly relate to adoption of new and emerging network architectures topologies and applications that provide necessary up gradation and economy in operations.  In generic terms, Telecom and IT infrastructure transformation relates to the evolution of the Telecom and IT infrastructure from technology focused model to a user centric service delivery model.  In nutshell, the transformational services could be termed as those cost effective services which require modifications to the current (legacy) infrastructure into which is now called as ‘Next Generation Infrastructure’.  This complete gamut of converting or modifying the Telecom and IT network, its related elements, end user services and business processes to achieve cost effectiveness and higher efficiencies is one more part of Core Business being undertaken by Logix.  This complete process is being enabled by internet protocol (IT based technology).  The introduction of new service does not mean dismantling or discontinuation of the legacy set up.

2.From Logix’s business point of view, in an emerging integrated or converged network Centric Environment, the Transformational Services correspond to either one or a combination of the following three transformations:

  • Back end Telecom Network Transformation.
  • Terminal End – User Services Transformation.
  • Application oriented IT Systems Transformation.

Back End Telecom Network Transformation

3.This process mainly relates to modernization and up gradation of the core network, back bone network, access network and also the last mile connectivity; whether wire line or wireless.   Logix’s activities related to this transformational service correspond to the following:

  • Network planning and design
  • Equipment / Vendor selection
  • Verification of equipment through lab-demos, simulations and interoperability testing.
  • Devising and using network configuration data transfer mechanisms & tools.
  • Migration planning and implementation.
  • Network Deployment.
  • Cut-over plans along with fall-back / roll-back plans.

Terminal End-user Service Transformation

4.This process is aimed at ensuring that the services offered in the legacy network and availed by the end-users continue to be available during the transition phase and up to a planned future.  This sub-process is also concerned with introduction of new end-user services into the ‘Next-Generation Network’. Our typical activities include:-

  • Identifying mechanisms to glue legacy services to the new network.
  • Designing and developing network abstraction layers for implementing new service applications.
  • Developing proof-of-concept to validate new services in labs.
  • Developing and executing migration services to transition subscribers from legacy to the new network.

IT Systems Transformation

5.This refers to the sub-process that is involved in aligning the Operations Support System and Business Support System infrastructure with the transformed network.  Logix’s typical sets of activities that characterize this sub-process include:

  • Office Automation
  • Rationalizing existing applications to merge consolidate or retire systems.
  • Designing and implementing end-to-end solutions.

Transformation Service Supports

7. In today’s context and as Logix understands and implements these, transformation services correspond to the following:

  • Improving customer satisfaction.
  • Improving network performance.
  • Reducing operational costs associated with network provisioning and assurance (service creation and service delivery costs).
  • Shortening time-to-market cycles.
  • Preparing for the onset of competition.
